The Scepter is a professional linear coil for cartridges — third-gen Innercoil audio. It runs on AC/audio through an Electric Shark amp and Ink Weasel; it will not run on DC. User guide →
Yes. Electric Shark audio systems require the audiopower supply and Ink Weasel. Waveform, Hz, amplitude, and most Scepter settings are controlled from the app.

System
Choose waveform, Hz, and level on the amp panel — or say it out loud.
Audio routes from your iPhone via Bluetooth or cable to your Electric Shark audiopower supply.
The needle follows the shaped pulse — bidirectional control with less snag than traditional coil tuning.
Think of it like Spotify + Bluetooth speaker + needle — Ink Weasel is the playlist, the Electric Shark amp is the speaker, and The Scepter is what actually moves.
The Scepter
A linear coil machine for cartridges (third-gen Innercoil audio). AC/audio only — not DC, not a hybrid. Waveform, Hz, amplitude, and most machine settings live in the app.
Machine technology
DC and PWM machines are limited by bar weight, spring tension, and duty cycle. Audio tattoo machines use amplified AC signals so every stroke is shaped in software.
The Scepter is the flagship professional machine in that lineup — a linear coil for cartridges, powered by audio through an Electric Shark amp and Ink Weasel. Ink Weasel is how you command it: Shark Tooth, Hammerhead, or JAWS at the Hz and amplitude your piece demands.
Hardware is sold through the Shark Shop. Browse all Electric Shark tattoo machines, then download Ink Weasel to run them.
